Cheers to Fella

Wow, two posts in as many day's from me, it must be that Jas is away (and currently not a distraction :)) and I've decided to take some time out for myself instead of picking up and cleaning after everyone else. Either way, I've had a great day stamping and not cleaning ;)

Men's cards are particularly hard to make, but I have to admit, this one came together so easily and I'm really happy with the end result. I've paper-pieced my fella's shirt using the same decorative paper that I've used to back the image and sentiment. To colour my fella, I've used a blender pen with ink which gives a subtler effect than markers. My colours have been chosen because of their masculine qualities more than anything else.

Normally I'd list my supplies here, but I'd prefer to post today instead of getting into the nitty gritty of things. If you need more info just let me know and I'll get back to you, but the products I've used are from Bella Stamps, Stampin' Up! and Creative Memories. Don't they all just compliment each other so nicely!

Masculine Get Well Soon

Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts, messages and phone calls regarding my (and my families) recent car accident. I'm really blessed to have such wonderful and caring friends. We had confirmation today that our car is 'unfix able' and is thus, a complete write off. After attending the wreckers today and seeing the damage, I'm so thankful that no one was injured seriously.

Moving on, today was the beginning of my new 'blog happenings'. I'm kicking off with a card I made for my (soon to be) brother-in-law who's a little under the weather at the moment. This card was designed and created in under 30 minutes as per my Monday Madness Criteria. It was so simple to make, and after completing it, I had some left over time, so have stamped a sentiment and more designs on the inside of the card on white cardstock. I just love the colour scheme and I hope my BIL does as well. I've also used one of the Sale-A-Bration sets that are currently available called Polka Dot Punches.

Supplies:
* Polka Dot Punches (SAB Set), Cheery Chat Stamp Set.
* Apricot Appeal, Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip Stamp Pads.
* Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal and Whisper White Cardstock.
* Bashful Blue Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dots (Mini).

Happy Fathers Day 2:

As I'm in the NT, I thought it would be nice to make a card for my Dad that was kinda cute and captured the humor in the top end. When I saw a card made by a lady I only know as CooCooKatchoo Mrs Robinson, I knew I'd found my inspiration.

I really like this card because first, it taught me that if I don't have the right stamp for a job, I can write - in my own hand writing, on the front of a card (HAPPY FATHER'S DAY). The second thing it taught me, was that SU have deleted the 1/4" Choc Chip Grossgrain Ribbon. Yes, I'm ashamed to say It's taken me til now to notice. Anyhow, I've used it in this card as it was just perfect to finish everything off.

Supplies:
* Wild About You Stamp Set.
* Choc Chip, Whisper White and Old Olive Cardstock. Summer Picnic DSP.
* Old Olive Stamp Pad.
* 1/3/8" & 1/1/4" Circle Punches, Choc Chip Marker and Choc Chip 1/4" Grossgrain Ribbon (retired, but I still can't believe it).
Happy Fathers Day 1:

With Father's Day coming up, I thought it was high time I made some simple Father's Day Cards you could all get some inspiration from and create yourselves at home. This is the first card I made, and can easily be changed to suit different needs.

Supplies:
* Occasional Greetings Stamp Set.
* Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White Cardstock. Pool Party DSP (retired).
* Pumpkin Pie Stamp Pad.
* Stampin' Dimensionals, Vintage Brads & Mat Pack.

You Float My Boat...Jas!

Finally, the count down is on and with only 22 hours left, the children and I are getting VERY excited about Jas coming home. Not because he's been away for weeks, but because he's bringing presents!!! Just kidding. We've all missed him like crazy, and over the weekend the kids each made him a card to welcome him back home.

Not wanting to be left out, last night I decided to make a card for him too and just had to use this set! The above is my second attempt as I wasn't happy with my first design. So, not being able to fix it, I started again and had lots of fun coming up with the above tonight. I also made use of some scrap pieces of retired 12x12 DSP which I can no longer use in demonstrations but won't waste.

Supplies:

* Boatloads of Love Stamp Set.

* Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Brocade Blue and Watercolour Cardstock. 12x12 Pool Party DSP (retired).

* StazOn Black, Brocade Blue Stamp Pads.

* Neutral, Rich Regal and Earth Elements Watercolour Wonder Crayons.

* Aqua Painter, Vintage Brads, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch and 2-Way Glue Pen.

* Miscellaneous Item was some cotton wool for the smoke.
