The Eyes of a Child

I don't often show my scrapbook creations on my blog for two reasons. The first is that, I started scrapbooking two and a half years before I started stamping and signed up as a Stampin' Up! Independent demonstrator. Because of this, much of my scrapbooking 'stuff' is Creative Memories. The second reason I don't often show my scrapbook creations is that, having used Creative Memories product for so long before I discovered my love of stamping, I've (and I know I've told you this before) had some difficulty meshing the two together.

I'm slowly becoming more comfortable with my stamped scrapbook pages and I hope you like them too. Also, as I'm not one to waste supplies, you'll notice with the majority of my scrapbook pages which are for my personal albums, I will often use Stampin' Up! products in conjunction with other products currently in the market place - which I have stockpiled over the years and am now trying to use.

I started this scrapbook page of my youngest a while ago now, but only finished it tonight. I had an idea in my head what I wanted, but between printer and craft inks drying on vellum, I was distracted with other things. I think the wait was worth the end result as I'm really happy with this page. Oh, last but not least, appologies for the quality of the blog photo. It's very difficult to try to get a decent picture without the flash showing in the 'glossy' of the photo's on the scrapbook page.

Supplies:
* Scribble This Stamp Set.
* White Craft Stamp Pad.
* Vellum Cardstock. Rich Regals Brads.
* CM Background Paper, CM Silver Cardstock.
* Making Memories "In the Eyes of a Child" Sticker.

Hi Nerine. My name is Andrea & I just became a SU demonstrator in August. When I came across your Blog & read your latest post, I couldn't believe that you were experiencing the same feelings that I was!!! I am also finding it difficult to incorporate my latest love (SU) into my scrapbooking pages, but I am also slowly getting there. When I first joined I thought I was only ever supposed to use SU but it would have been such a waste of all the lovely scrapbooking items I have accumulated over the years. Now I have come to turns with the fact that there is nothing wrong with combining the two when it works for the layout. Thank you so much for posting your feelings on this matter. I feel so much better for it - ha ha. Enjoy your Christmas & I look forward to your future posts. Andrea.

Nerine love your scrapbook page. I really like how you stamped the flowers on the vellum and then cut them out. A very elegant look.

I like you have used CM for my scrapbooking and haven't incorporated stamping as much into my scrapbooks but I am working on it! Stamping is just not for cards that is what I have to keep telling myself!

Hugs!

Hey Nerine, I think you have done an awesome job incorporating SM into this page. I have a group of customers who are all CM devotees and were initially only using SU with their cards, never their scrapping. But over time it has been a joy to watch them open up to the idea and see what they can achieve. It will happen for you, be patient and don't be afraid to try things out. You'll be surprised in what you can achieve!

Merry Christmas to you and your family, God Bless and talk to you in the New Year!

:) Marcia

Beautiful page Nerine!

I too know how you feel - but maybe even more so! However, I have begun to challenge myself to create pages using only SU product. That way I figure I'll feel better about mixing them up with CM.
